A Maine tornado? Changing weather patterns require superior protection

Freak weather events have continued to dominate national headlines, further perplexing meteorologists as they try to unravel nature’s mysterious code, which doesn’t appear to have any rhyme or reason whatsoever.

Most recently, the residents of Maine likely witnessed something they’ve only seen on late night news broadcasts: the destruction from a confirmed tornado touchdown. Traditionally, the New England state has been known more its winter weather, lobstering and clam chowder, but the seaside state now has a new life experience to reflect upon for decades to come.

Maine is nearly dead last in the nation when it comes to tornado sightings although the Pine Tree State saw seven twister ins 2017 alone. The most recent sighting struck the Kossuth Township in Washington County and uprooted 120 trees. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Weather anomalies, such as the Maine twister, are becoming more indicative of the norm instead of patterns in flux. Strange and unpredictable weather has become a recurring theme in recent years. While the overwhelming majority of the scientific community agrees that climate change is afoot, one thing is for certain: we are all subjects to the whims of Mother Nature.

Elephant Safe Rooms ready for nature’s fury

There was once a time when only Midwestern and southeastern states were vulnerable to the threat of tornadoes. Sadly, those days appear to be over. The reality of our changing climate is that storm protection is necessary in every single corner of the continental United States and beyond.

The Maine twister proved that every community is susceptible to storm danger and this threat shouldn’t be taken lightly. Hurricanes are also now a persistent threat as Hurricane Sandy proved that no mile of beachfront property is safe from a cyclone’s reach.

At Elephant Safe Rooms, we have been carefully monitoring changing weather patterns for years and have developed a unique product line that can offer superior steel protection from almost any natural threat and criminal behavior alike. We offer both above and below ground shelters that can be implemented into almost any home or business. And don’t worry. We would never try to sell you a unit that you don’t need or would be completely inept at protecting you from your natural environment. For example, an underground shelter would be the last option we would recommend for flood prone areas or foundations that would not support such digging.

The panelized kits are able to withstand tornado force wind speeds when properly installed inside the home, garage, or even out in the open. As recent weather patterns have proven, a cut-off for the beginning and ending of storm season no longer exists. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes can now occur throughout the year and hurricanes are striking further inland and later into the season. Unprecedented historic flooding is continuously rewriting the history books and meteorologists are still struggling to pinpoint storm trajectories and exact times of landfall.
