Safe Room Funding

safe room funding

Premium steel protection doesn’t come cheap. Why would it? Even if continuous lifesaving protection came at a discount, would you trust it? We seem to associate frugality and cheapness with inferior products. The same is true when it comes to safe room funding. Shoddy construction and shaky foundations tend to last only a fraction of the lifespan of our superior shelters that we subject to rigorous quality control procedures.  While you might save more upfront costs with inferior ‘Big Box’ store safe rooms, you’ll pay for it in the long run – possibly with your life. Don’t become another statistic. Browse our catalog of affordable safe room options before clicking the back button. Your family’s safety depends on it.

At Elephant Safe Rooms, we don’t mince words when it comes to pricing. We routinely update our product catalog pricing to reflect surging safety demands while being cognizant of changing market dynamics that dictate pricing, which we ultimately have zero control over. We’ll never be the “cheapest” option when it comes to storm and civil unrest protection. We can live with that, and you will too if you make the pragmatic decision of choosing us to protect your family for generations to come. Our customized shelters buck the trend of traditional cookie-cutter models. No two residences will have the same safety needs. Our  engineers work closely with each client to ensure they receive a safe room that meets their unique safety demands.

Reinvesting Profits Into Quality to Ensure Superior Protection

We’ve spent thousands of hours engineering state-of-the-art storm shelters under a battery of tests before giving these units our stamp of approval. Our vaulted and celebrated line of aboveground safe rooms and panelized shelters is an investment that will pay untold dividends with the instilled peace of mind engineered into every model that rolls off our factory floor.  Protecting your family from the world’s worst case scenarios is a monumental task you shouldn’t take lightly. With the cost of building materials, driven by inflation, steel has come at a premium. We could always settle for inferior alloys or composite materials for safe room construction, but these would certainly fail to secure the coveted approval of the TTU Wind Institute. Our shelters have met all the check boxes for withstanding windspeeds up to 250 miles per hour. Don’t believe us? Check out this video.

Smaller, More Affordable Safe Rooms

While some of our larger underground community shelters can easily come in at the $100,000 mark, we also offer a line of affordable models for smaller families seeking lifesaving steel protection. Our economical 6’x 6′ panelized kit offers the same steel protection of our larger units at a reduced rate to accommodate the unique safety concerns of individual families. Our panelized kit line starts at $12,000 and can be discreetly installed into any existing home office, bedroom or closest with minimal disturbance to your home’s foundation. Fortify your home against intruders and life-threatening tornadoes with guaranteed steel protection. We understand that safe room funding is the most common barrier for private citizens seeking guaranteed safe rooms and shelters. While we provide shelters for larger Fortune 500 companies, we can also give lasting peace of mind with our affordable panel kit models.

Utilizing Federal Programs for Safe Room Funding

Did you know the federal government could pay for your safe room? FEMA currently offers reimbursement for safe room costs for those individuals living in storm prone areas. Individual homeowners do not directly apply to FEMA, but through the Hazard Mitigation Assistance fund. Your state’s SHM officer can provide more information on how to apply for federal funding. To be clear, we can not file on your behalf. You should contact your county’s emergency management office for assistance in applying for federal safe room funds. Once approved, you can contact us to discuss which safe room or underground shelter is most befitting of your family’s safety needs. Block grants are also available for towns and organizations looking to build community safe rooms. To be eligible, the proposed shelter must be in an area that contains at least 20 units. The community should also be within a storm prone state, as defined by FEMA.
